SNATCH THIEVES AT IT AGAIN
[Crimes]
Mama in coma

Another snatch theft victim is in a coma after grappling with two snatch thieves in Taman Midah, Cheras, last Wednesday.
Yong Ah Lew, 57, was walking home at 3.30pm along Jalan Midah Tiga when her handbag was snatched by two men on a motorcycle causing her to fall on the tarmac.
The single mother of two managed to cry out before she blacked out.
Her cries alerted passers-by who rushed the victim to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital (HUKM).
Some of them saw two men on a motorcycle speeding away from the scene but did not realise it was a snatch theft until they saw her documents missing.
This latest incident happened despite the hue and cry and increased action against such criminals.
Cheras Member of Parliament Tan Kok Wai, who was briefed by doctors on her condition, said they had sedated her to help stabilise her condition.
He was also told that Yong's brain is still swelling although her overall condition has stabilised.
Her 15-year-old daughter, Yau Chew Poh, was keeping vigil by her bedside.
"I am very worried about my mother and hope she will survive," said Yau.
Yau is now on her own as her 20-year-old sister is working during day time.
She will be by her mother's bedside until she recovers.
The incident has prompted police to beef up security in the area.
The once empty police beat in Taman Midah is now manned by a personnel.
"Snatch thieves will be working overtime this festive season knowing people will carry valuables around," said Tan, who also urged the public to be careful when walking alone even during the day.
Cheras police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nor Masdar, said no arrest has been made but investigations are under way.
