[Crimes]
JOHOR BARU: Snatch-theft victim Sanorfizah Saleh, 31, remained in a coma yesterday after doctors put her back on the respirator on Friday.
Her husband, Azahar Md Ali, said she had breathing difficulties and fever, which forced the doctors to put her back on the respirator. She has been in a coma for 12 days.
“I was relieved when the doctors removed the respirator on Thursday after she could breathe on her own. I took that as a sign of recovery.
“But unfortunately, on Friday, she developed breathing difficulties and a fever,” he said.
Azahar, 33, who works in an electronics company in Pasir Gudang, said his employer had given him leave since the Oct 20 incident.
However, he would get back to work next week as there was nothing that he could doexcept pray.
“All I can do now is pray to Allah that my wife will regain her consciousness and return home and be with her five sons who miss her so much,” he said, adding that he sent them to his parents’ house in Tampin, Negri Sembilan, on Sunday.
On Oct 20, Sanorfizah was riding a motorcycle to Pasir Gudang town to collect goods from a direct-selling stockist when two men on a motorcycle snatched her handbag, which was in the front carrier.
She was kicked by one of the snatchers, causing her to fall on the road. She suffered serious head injuries and has not regained consciousness since.
